Practical questions about living with a custom pair

How long does a custom insole last?
With daily wear, a pair typically lasts 6 to 12 months before it is worth replacing. Our 5-year package includes scheduled replacements so the support stays fresh. Children usually need replacements more often as feet grow.
Will it fit in my normal shoes?
Most enclosed shoes (school shoes, sneakers, leather work shoes) fit our insoles fine, especially if the original insole is removable. Very narrow dress shoes or open sandals may not. We can discuss your daily footwear during the assessment and design around it.
Is there a break-in period?
Yes, usually 2 to 4 weeks. Your foot adapts to the new support, and some mild awareness during that time is normal. We guide the wear-in process (starting short and increasing daily hours) during your fitting session.
How do I clean and maintain the insoles?
Wipe with a damp cloth when needed and let them air dry fully. Avoid soaking, washing in water, or direct sunlight for long periods. Never put them in a dryer or wash machine. With basic care, a pair will hold shape until the scheduled replacement.
Can I travel with them, including swimming or water activities?
Yes for travel. No for water activities. Our insoles are designed for dry use inside shoes. If you swim, surf, or do water sports, remove the insole beforehand. They are not water-resistant.
What if my situation changes during the 5 years?
That is exactly why the package is 5 years, not one pair. If your feet change due to weight, pregnancy, injury, or a shift in activity, we re-scan and re-design. Those adjustments are included, not charged separately.
